History of State Bank of Hyderabad:
Hyderabad State Bank was established on 8th August, 1941 under Hyderabad State Bank Act, 1941. The Bank acquired assets and liabilities of the Hyderabad Mercantile Bank Limited in 1953. It was taken over by Reserve Bank of India as its first subsidiary in 1956. Name of the Bank changed into State Bank of Hyderabad from Hyderabad State Bank in 1956.
State Bank of Hyderabad became a subsidiary of State Bank of India from 1st October, 1959. The Bank had opened its first branch at Gunfoundry, Hyderabad on 5th April, 1942.
